WYLDE WOMAN | MIKI ASH
Do you have a ritual for creativity & inspiration?
Meditation is my most important ritual. It allows me to drop into such an infinite space, I always come out feeling refreshed, motivated and inspired to create, and to create consciously.
What would be your advice to anyone who wants to break free from their conventional job and into their creative passion?
Focus on yourself. Most people project their fear and insecurities onto those who break away from the norm. There will be people who try to stop you from pursuing your passion, but keep your attention on the end vision. How does the thought of living your true creative passion feel? Try to evoke that feeling as much as possible.
Who do you look up to?
My family is so important to me. My aunt, Biya Ramar, is one of the most creative people I know. She oozes creativity from every pore. From creating couture pieces, to having colored silk braided into her hair, she is endlessly inspiring me.
What inspires you most in your own creative process?
As a yoga instructor and photographer, how do you find balance between a socially demanding lifestyle and taking time out to reconnect?
What has been your biggest lesson?
To trust and let go. There is so much unseen support, and magic happening on our behalfs if we can learn to let go and allow the universe to do what it does best - synchronistically create! Its ok to not know, in fact there is so much mystery and excitement and possibility in the unknown!
If you could have a tea ceremony with any 5 guests who would you invite and why?
I feel so lucky to deeply love the people in my life, and if I could join any 5 it would be…. my dad, because he is my love and best friend and I want to spend as much time with him as possible, Bibi, my tantra teacher, because she has completely changed my life and shifted my perspective on intimacy. Jonni Pollard, my meditation teacher, because he is an endless well of pure love and knowledge. Oprah, because… Oprah. And I’d also have my little sister there, because she completes me.
What are your hopes for the rest of the year and what would you like to share with the world?
My hopes are to stay grounded while I travel, to continue to create and meditate and inspire others to find a deep connection to themselves. To paint as much as possible and to put together a photography show. I would love to work with a videographer to create (as I am kind of clueless when it comes to video, but admire the craft) as well as to grow my social media presence. I would love to collaborate with a brand on a collection, and just be as artistic as possible!
What would be your advice to women?
LOVE YOURSELF. YOU ARE WORTHY. REMIND YOURSELF DAILY.
